Finding an appropriate home on Simon Raymonde (of Cocteau Twins)'s Bella Union, London trio deary unveil 'Seabird'. Oozing with glimmering dreampop goodness, deeply effected guitars tick all the boxes for shoegaze lovers. Awash with chorus, delay and reverb, Dottie Cockram's ethereal vocals glide easily over the textured instrumental, musing on feathered friends as she explains: “I got really into reading about birds and all these historical stories and poetry about them...You find these beautiful images of birds that represent hope, but they’re also animals. Some of them, like vultures and crows, are a sign of death to some people. They represent all these different elements, which I think sum up a lot of the album.” Set to appear on their debut album Birding, which delves deeper into symbolism and metaphors that Cockram mentions, 'Seabird' is a serene and accomplished introduction to what's to come from deary.
