An outfit that caught our eyes (and ears) in 2021, Modern Woman have announced their signing to One Little Independent with the arresting 'Dashboard Mary'. Conveyed with just as much gusto as icons Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen and dare we say Patti Smith, front-person Sophie Harris commits to the emotion of the song and delivers tenfold. Drawn out to almost 5 minutes, the track builds slowly and with intention, as Harris explains: “This is a song that I wanted to write like a film. I wanted to confront the feeling of the ‘morning after’ and the decisions made during that time of exhilaration, the night before.” Demonstrating restraint and confidence in their musicality, Modern Woman keep a lid on their sonic power until the perfect moment, executing a visceral climax that'll leave you shaken and questioning your own life choices.
