‘Make A Bet’ is the latest single from Bristol-based alt-folk singer-songwriter Myer U Clark. His idiosyncratic style is out in full force on this track, with the gentle twang of acoustic guitar being underpinned by warm, buzzy strings. It’s English folk at its core, but with a unique sense of fantasy finding its way in through his gentle voice, and via unexpected chord choices and the subtle groove of the drum kit. “I can’t say exactly why it occurred to me to liken people in love to betting on each other like greyhounds,” he says. “But I can say that not knowing the odds of things working out doesn’t stop us from placing those bets, and I can’t think why it should either.” Catch Myer U Clark live around Bristol and London this Spring.
