Now operating with a full band, the jazz-flecked singer has found intent in its expanded collaborations that escape the trappings of his early EPs and debut album. This tune in particular is spaced out, uniquely textured and instantly absorbing. His voice is, of course, the star of the show, but those laid-back trip-hop-inspired beats elevate it to a new level, with the wanderings of subtle jazz harmony driving it forward.
