Ready to cleanse and start anew, Finnish-British musician otta has shared an admittedly unserious collaboration with Powerplant. Combining their disparate yet incredibly well-honed skillsets, 'Summer Rain' is a full-throttle slice of hyper-pop with a liberal sprinkling of black-metal. Lead by glitchy, pitch-shifted vocals broken industrial beats and layers of harsh guitar add intensity to what is (at its core), an incredibly catchy melody. Lyrically appropriate with repeated mentions of 'a runaway train', 'Summer Rain' feels like it's about to come off the tracks as otta explains: ‘’This idea started during of our first time in a studio - we both agreed it was actually really bad - I think that became the drive to try turn it into something good. I didn’t want the first song we made to genuinely suck. In the end I think being brutal with it was the key - I think I had the most fun just destroying it - once it was put back together I realised the key elements were quite strong all along’’.
