Northumbrian electro-folk artist Frankie Archer has revealed her new song, ‘The Dance Of Death’. It’s an immersive, modern cut that approaches folk music as, primarily, a producer, with nods toward the likes of Little Dragon and Björk. Synth riffs spiral their way through the track, contrasting medieval chants. She says the track is “a romp. A final rave in the face of mortality. If the end is nigh then let’s go out with a bang. The idea of Death coming to claim people with a dance was popular in medieval times when the plague made people face their own mortality. The moral of the story is: you could be the Pope or the King, you could be the person who works in the shop down the road or the kid in the playground. Nobody is immune from death, so let’s live life while we can.” Her new album, also called The Dance Of Death, drops on June 5th, 2026, via prrr of the bear.
