South London six-piece Gently Tender have revealed their new release, ‘A Mound A Field’. Amongst their first new music in almost three years, this track is a rousing five-minute epic. Their sound is indie rock at its core, but there are simple, pastoral melodies at its core, as well as tone-shifting influences from folk, soul, and even punk. According to frontman Sam Fryer, the track is “capturing the moment when you’re walking the open fields and then are suddenly hit with the view of the vast open city, being aware of the changes in emotion, how it changes the way you breathe, and how it compels you to meditate on all life on Earth how it has developed for all good and worse.” The new EP from Gently Tender, This Was Once Fields, drops on May 22nd, 2026, via Todo Records.
