‘Bird of Wind’ is the new release from Mongolian musician and sound artist, Ts Bayandalai. Over seven minutes, he takes the listener on a journey that begins with a tender folky opening that draws on his Mongolian roots before drifting through the haze of a slow, post-rock-inspired build completed by abstract, shifting textures. The whole thing is grounded and driven by his distinctively emotive falsetto voice. Ts Bayandalai will be releasing his incredible debut album, Wind of Oirat, on May 15th, 2026, via Night Defined Recordings. It’s an expansive, evocative landscape that builds on the sonic textures of his 2020 Kimel EP, with sparse pastoral passages giving way to long, often abstract instrumental builds.
