‘Headlamp’ is the new single from Oakland-raised, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Ivy Knight. It’s a tender and charming track that leans into its inspirations: the imagery of a barren, Southwest American landscape, her own hazy memories, and the sound of early 1960s balladry. Her voice is effortlessly melodic over a simple, warm instrumental that allows her lyrics to take centre stage. She says the track was “written in the winter of 2023. I thought of memories passing through a rear-view mirror and saying ‘thank you’.” The debut album from Ivy Knight, Iron Mountain, is out on May 15th, 2026, via Scenic Route.
