‘Crash Landing’ is the new single from London-based trio mary in the junkyard. The experimental rock band have crafted a very direct and powerful ballad - drones and string arrangements underpin the clever arrangement with dark textures, while a trip-hop groove adds to the subtle tension. Vocalist Clari Freeman-Taylor says that the track “was written when we fell in love with the warm low drones of the harmonium. At the time, we were listening a lot to Life Without Buildings on tour, so I think I was channeling some chirpy scatty poetry when we were jamming. This one is really joyful for me, it is all about change and growth.” The band are gearing up to release their eagerly-awaited debut album, Role Model Hermit, on July 3rd, 2026, and will be touring the UK in the days after its release.
