‘Falling’ is the latest single from Romaine, who has also revealed her impressive second album, It’s Not That Funny. The track is built above a subtle, grungy guitar chug that crafts out just enough space for her lyrics, which represent an omen for her own breaking down. It gets heavier as it progresses, with punchy drums and distorted dissonances creeping their way in by the time the final chorus comes around. On the video that accompanies the track, she says: “The music video was shot at my 30th birthday party -I had to pay for a venue hire and was super broke at the time so Young Ha Kim [director] and I joked that we should shoot a music video to be able to claim it on tax.
