‘Tears Are’ is the new single from Manchester-based trio, The Orielles, recorded between Hydra and Hamburg. The track is unique in it’s ability to switch between two vastly different states. It begins filled with catchy hooks that border on anthemic, but ends by dissolving into a warped version of its earlier self, complete with minor key reworkings of its initial themes. “You could think of something deeply human,” they say, on the track’s matching lyrical uncertainty. “But you could also answer it in a completely linguistic sense and think of a tear as a symbol or an image. We had this vague imagery of wood versus metal. Hamburg was metal and Hydra was wood. Everything fell naturally into either category.” ‘Tears Are’ is taken from The Orielles’ upcoming fourth album, Only You Left, which drops on March 13th, 2026 and is the band’s first emergence from a seven-year cycle.
