‘Estas cosas’ is the latest single from Guatemalan artist Fer Franco. “It was mostly a stream of consciousness,” he says. “It's a song that follows a structure I've played with many times before, a track that doesn't follow the traditional verse-chorus-verse structure and it's more an A-B-C approach. A nod to when I started writing songs. I think due to lack of formal training, that was an approach that felt natural to me.” Its opening moments are soft and delicate, with simple melodies floating above chords and swelling synths, but it quickly moves toward distortion, and soon, a total tempo shift that introduces swirling rhythms that evoke krautrock and psychedelia. The track’s final moments sound almost nothing like its first. ‘Estas cosas’ is taken from his upcoming album, Punto de Inflexión, which drops on April 24th, 2026.
