London band Frank Lloyd Wleft and his Orchestra have dropped their new track, ‘Of Liberty’. In trademark form, Wleft and his band put a whimsical English spin on American-inspired artforms. The track is a twisted, jangly piece of indie-laced rock defined by his instantly recognisable, slack-jawed vocal delivery and poetic lyrics. It’s dynamic and unpredictable, with a tender central instrumental closing with a sudden scream that leads into the track’s heavy, punk-edged climax. “In keeping with the tradition of many American epics, it felt right to start this one in New York, in the shadow of Lady Liberty,” says Wleft. “This song sucks it all up and spits it back out: souvenir stands, 24hr pizza restaurants, Baudrillard’s sadness at the American packed lunch. It began life with the sight of a nun with a pram jogging across Williamsburg Bridge and ended when a supermarket clerk recognised us on the last day of the trip: ‘Hey Eddie, the British are back!’.” The quartet are gearing up to release their debut album, The Actual Kids In Actual America, on July 3rd, 2026, via Strong Island Recordings.
