‘Poison Berry’ is the new track from dream-pop quintet Night Swimming. It’s an absorbing, hypnotic release that is centred on an addictive rhythm situated amongst their trademark dreamy textures. Vocalist and lyricist Meg Jones’ words and delivery are uncharacteristically dry, reflecting a state of numbness when in a situation where feelings aren’t being reciprocated. On the video that accompanies the track, Meg says: “We wanted the music video for ‘Poison Berry’ to present as a satirical caricature showing the pain and futility of trying to make relationships work with people who can’t be who they want to be. We worked with Jay Bartlett for this, who suggested the use of a continuous track camera technique to pan across different scenarios in a confined space. The video swings between expressions of despondency, anger and exasperation to highlight the characters’ repressed emotions and lack of communication.” The band have also announced the release of their new EP, Melting, Sometimes Bleeding, which is out on May 22nd, 2026, via Venn Records.
